A BIT ABOUT US

We meet on Sundays at 11.00am for worship and have groups for children and young people. Our service usually lasts around an hour and a half and we have refreshments and cake after each service. People come from all sorts of church backgrounds to CBC and from different church backgrounds or none at all. All are welcome!

We are a Baptist church, a member of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the London Baptist Association and also a member of the Evangelical Alliance.

We seek to work with other evangelical churches in the area including St Gabriel's CoE, Willesden Green Baptist church, St Peters, and the local YWAM team.

Some of the work we do together is on holiday clubs, prayer walks, joint services, Easter sunrise service and schools work.

Our pastor:

Rev Stephen MacLean left Scotland after studying at the Faith Mission Bible College in Edinburgh, then in Glasgow for his B.A in Theology. He then joined London City Mission and was based in the East of London for 11 years before becoming assistant pastor of a Baptist church in Dagenham and a youth leader of a Baptist church in Ilford.

He became pastor of CBC in 2013.

Our youth and community worker:

Phylisia joined us in September 2019 and abit about her:

My journey in Christ Jesus began at the age of  8 years old when I began attending church weekly.  In my adolescence, at the age of 17 I decided to get baptised to give my life fully to Christ at Streatham Baptist church.

I I then continued in my faith and attended a different  church nearby to home in south east London.

In 2016, I was a youth leader for a small ministry in Croydon;

I worked with children & youth from age 5  to 15 years every Thursday, as it was a youth club & Sunday school every week before the general  service started.

In my personal time, I also do a bible study with a small group of young adults (14 to 25 years old) in my home. I began this Bible study as I felt there was necessity, as young adults  are finding it difficult to maintain their salvation because they find it difficult to understand the word of God by themselves.

I am also currently an active trustee for a community charitable organisation,  as I believe I am the church outside of the four walls. I have continued my passion and purpose by working with the youth and children, I have been coordinating events and short time projects for them in the community and wish to implement this in the church community.
